Land Transport NZ

The Land Transport NZ identified there was a knowledge management requirement to support stakeholders and to function effectively as an organisation. To initiate this LTNZ engaged iKnow to undertake a Need Analysis. The methodology used enabled LTNZ to undertake further gap and issue analysis.

We performed a number of tasks starting with the initial review and developed the role to include the following areas:

• Review of core information assets and flows
• Identifying gaps in the way information is used to manage the business effectively
• Identifying areas of information policy and ownership that need improving
• Identifying opportunities to reduce information handling costs
• Identifying opportunities to improve coordination and access to commonly needed information
• Development of financial Return on Investment matrix
• Seminar development surrounding the Information Management Strategy
• Development of User Requirements of the Electronic Document and Records Management Request for Proposal
